April 2010 - Letter from the President
The first quarter of 2010 was a dynamic one for Sand Hill Global Advisors. We began our year by hosting our second Financial Forum at the end of January. The topic, which explored the psychology of investing, proved to be both timely and engaging. This newsletter’s Personal Planning column uses the lessons from the Forum presentation to help clients gain a better understanding of the extensive work we do in risk assessment. The Forum also gave us the opportunity to publically welcome our new Chief Investment Officer, Brian Dombkowski, and to introduce him to many of our clients and business associates. Brian’s commentary in this newsletter recaps the activities of the global market over the last quarter, and articulates Sand Hill’s thoughts on the recovering economy. We are pleased that our adherence to our investment philosophy has served our clients well over the last 12 months, and that Sand Hill has emerged from the storm stronger than ever. And finally, as most of you already know, we are very happy to have adopted our new name, Sand Hill Global Advisors, a change that we feel reflects our firm’s global view of markets and economic conditions, as well as our holistic approach to serving our clients.
While we’re under no illusions that it’s all smooth sailing ahead, we are confident in our positive outlook for the economy, for Sand Hill Global Advisors, and for our clients.
