January 2011 - Letter from the CEO
As I look out of my hotel room window in Boston, reflecting on my first newsletter message of 2011, three things immediately come to mind: first, my deep gratitude for the loyalty and commitment of our clients and colleagues; second, my gut-level optimism for the New Year; and third, my renewed appreciation for the relative ease of travel on the west coast, even in the worst of weather! Being “stranded,” however, is not so bad–it gives me time for quiet contemplation, which is a rare privilege in our busy times. And of course, the internet allows me to continue working despite airline and train cancellations!
January’s excitement is all around Sand Hill’s third Forum. Each year we try to relate what’s going on in the economy to what’s important to our clients and business associates. Certainly we have not lacked for material! This year we welcome Ian Morrison, internationally recognized author, consultant, and futurist, as our guest speaker. His discussion of The Next Economy and the intersection of budget deficits and healthcare should once again be timely and fascinating. We look forward to seeing you there – rain or shine!
