July 2009 - Sand Hill in the Community

On May 13th, Jane Creighton, Sand Hill’s Chief Wealth Management Officer, was honored by Women's Initiative for Self-Employment (WISE) for her mentoring efforts at the Women of Action 2009 Award Celebration. Since its creation in 1988, WISE has consistently proven that microenterprise development programs help low-income and minority women turn their dreams into thriving businesses. Women who participated in WISE training between 2003 and 2007 increased their annual household income an average of $14,000/year by 2008. Overall, for every $1 invested, $30 is returned to the economy as a result of women paying taxes, hiring others, and leaving the welfare system. Sand Hill Global Advisors enthusiastically supports and participates in the work of Women’s Initiative. Wealth Manager Kimberleigh Williams is currently working with WISE to organize a September 17th event being held in the courtyard at Sand Hill Advisor’s offices. Their CEO, Julie Abrams, will be on hand to share her vision and introduce some of the WISE graduates. If you are interested in attending, please contact Kimberleigh(kwilliams@shadv.com).
