Kristin Sun was born and raised with a Silicon Valley mindset. Originally from Mountain View, she grew up alongside this hub of technology and innovation. Watching her father enjoy a fulfilling career at Hewlett Packard, Kristin always knew she wanted to be involved in this exciting and entrepreneurially-minded culture.

As a Senior Wealth Manager, Kristin is passionate about helping her clients achieve financial peace of mind. With over 20 years of wealth management experience, she takes a hands-on approach to analyzing cash flow needs, thinking through inputs, outcomes, and life events like buying homes, supporting a loved one, or facing liquidity events such as IPOs and company sales. Kristin focuses on proactively stress testing financial plans and avoiding surprises. Her ability to take a deep dive into the details lends perfectly to her specialization in divorce financial planning. In this arena, she guides clients through the complexities of marital dissolution, as well as pre- and post-nuptial planning. In addition, Kristin provides advice in the areas of education funding (something that’s personally important to her as a mom), charitable giving strategies, and guiding executives and entrepreneurs on diversifying out of concentrated exposures.

As Sand Hill’s Director of Financial Planning, Kristin oversees the firm’s full suite of financial planning services. She is responsible for ensuring the Sand Hill team is up-to-date on tax and estate planning developments while also providing mentorship and guidance to the firm’s Financial Planners and next generation advisors.

Kristin enjoys supporting her local community through her work on the Peninsula Health Care District Finance Committee, and on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee of the Atkinson Foundation. Out of the office you might find Kristin with her family enjoying the outdoors in South Lake Tahoe, or with her nose buried in a good work of fiction. It’s the perfect balance for the real-world challenges she regularly helps clients navigate.
